Celebrating its third week at the top of the all-formats chart, EA's FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 continues to enjoy strong sales on multiple platforms - but Lara Croft holds firm in second place.
Eidos enjoys a 50 per cent rise in sales for its Championship Manager 2006 game, which climbs seven places from ten to three. Konami charges up the wing with a platinum release for Pro Evolution Soccer 5, which jumps 12 places from 16 to four.
The Godfather slips one place into fifth, followed closely by Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, down three places in sixth, and Nintendo's DS title Animal Crossing: Wild World, which drops two positions to rest at number seven.
The bottom three of the top ten reveals a three step jump for EA with The Sims 2 at number eight, while FIFA Street 2 and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown slide down the charts into ninth and tenth respectively.
New entries are thin on the ground this week, the only noticeable debut in the upper half of the top forty coming from Nintendo's Pokemon Link, which is in at eighteen, and Capcom's PSP offering, Monster Hunter: Freedom, which leaps straight into first in the PSP chart and rests at 20 in the all-formats listing.
New releases out this week include Activision's multi-format movie license, X-Men: The Official Game, but EA are bringing on a substitution with the launch of FIFA World Cup Germany for PSP - the handheld title could well boost sales further and keep the football franchise at the top of the sales chart for yet another week.
