Ubisoft to publish The Bard's Tale in Europe

Brian Fargo and inXile's action role-playing game The Bard's Tale has found a new European publisher, with Ubisoft confirming today that it expects to ship PS2, Xbox and PC versions in March.

The Bard's Tale was actually launched on PS2 and Xbox late last year in the US, where it picked up some very solid reviews in late October, but has been caught in limbo on this side of the pond following the demise of original European publisher Acclaim last September.

French publisher Ubisoft is now on board to handle inXile's quirky title, which stars a sarcastic, self-centred bard whose primary motivation for adventuring is "coin and cleavage" rather than any half-baked notions of self-sacrifice.
