Ubisoft hails Assassin's Creed II sales
Sequel shifts 32% more units than original title in week one, says publisher
Ubisoft has released a statement revealing the level of sales for its key 2009 release, Assassin's Creed II.
According to the publisher the game has sold 1.6 million units globally in its first week on sale, based on internal estimates - a figure which puts it 32 per cent higher than the original game, which launched two years ago.
"Assassin's Creed II has received an overwhelmingly positive reception from gamers around the world and from the videogame trade press with to date," read a statement, noting that the original title remains the fastest-selling new IP title in the US.
