Ubisoft adds Riders Republic, Prince of Persia remake to early 2021 lineup

Publisher plans Immortals Fenyx Rising and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World re-release for this holiday season, Rainbow 6 World Cup event next summer

Ubisoft detailed more of its upcoming lineup of games for this year and next in an Ubisoft Forward video presentation today.

For this year, Ubisoft gave its latest open-world action-adventure a release date, as the Greek mythology-inspired Immortals: Fenyx Rising will arrive December 3 for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, Stadia, and PC.

Ubisoft said it will also launch on the PS5 "upon the launch of the console," with free cross-gen upgrades for PS4 and Xbox One customers who invest in the next-gen systems.

In addition, Ubisoft will release Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia, and PC this holiday season.

The game is a re-release of the licensed 2010 beat-'em-up, which hasn't been available since being delisted in 2014.

The publisher also lined up a pair of titles for next year, starting with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on January 21. As the name implies, the game is a remake of the 2003 original Sands of Time.

Ubisoft is describing it as a "full-scale" remake from its Pune and Mumbai studios, but has set a two-thirds-scale $39.99 retail price for it.

Ubisoft also announced and dated Riders Republic, an open-world extreme sports title from Ubisoft Annecy, the studio behind 2016's winter sports game Steep.

The massively multiplayer title will launch February 25 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, Stadia, and PC, with free next-gen upgrades for those who purchase the PS4 or Xbox One versions and then pick up the newer hardware.

The company also today announced a pair of new virtual reality projects. Space exploration title AGOS: A Game of Space releases October 28, while Far Cry VR: Dive into Insanity will be a location-based VR experience launching next year exclusively at Zero Latency VR entertainment centers.

Finally, Ubisoft revealed the Rainbow 6 World Cup, a new country-based competition planned for the summer of 2021.

Hours before the Ubisoft Forward event, Ubisoft released a video statement from CEO Yves Guillemot addressing the numerous abuse allegations that resulted in the removal of a handful of high-level employees and executives in recent months, as well as a recent controversy over a mobile game casting a social protest movement using a raised fist symbol as a front for a terrorist organization.

The event itself did not include the video, and made no mention of either topic.
