Shares in French publisher Ubisoft have risen by 4 per cent following record sales of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, which was released on Xbox 360 last week.
More than 240,000 copies of the game have already been sold in North America, according to Ubisoft, and sales in France, Germany and the UK topped 120,000 in just three days.
GRAW is currently at No. 2 in the UK all formats chart, just behind multi-platform EA title FIFA Street 2, and is Europe's fastest selling Xbox 360 title. According to Reuters, Ubisoft's shares have risen by 4.01 per cent to stand at EURO 36.1.
"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter had the best ever first-week sales performance for our company and is looking like a major commercial success," said Ubisoft chairman Yves Guillemot.
The Xbox version of GRAW is out today, with the PS2 game to follow on March 31st. A PC version is slated for a release in May.
