U-SING

Mindscape sings the praises of Asda, Tesco, Game, Morrisons, HMV and other supportive retailers.

Universal Music and Mindscape are delighted with the initial results and UK retail support for the first instalment of their franchise ‘U-Sing - U’ve Got Talent’. Mark Stanger of Mindscape commented “we have been greatly encouraged by the support given to ‘U-Sing -U’ve Got Talent’. The title is being supported by amongst others Asda, Tesco, Game, Morrisons and HMV along with the online retailers, “these are high quality retailers and we value and appreciate their support in launching the U-Sing franchise with us”.

By launching a new franchise at the peak period Stanger added, “ we have implemented a robust supply chain to guarantee stock, worked with a sustainable pricing model and backed this with a substantial marketing spend, in fact all of the things you would expect when launching a new franchise, not just selling a one-off game”

Laura Lister, Games Buyer from Asda commented “we have been delighted with the initial results on U-Sing, which is one of our best selling Wii games and excited to be involved with the launch of an exciting new brand in our category. It’s a fantastic family title that fits very well with our customers”

Didier Semah, from Universal Music added “Universal Music is proud to be involved in the development of the first karaoke game for Nintendo Wii. As the real leader in the music industry, Universal Music wants to make U-Sing the leader of all karaoke games. The first sales results and the strong support from retailers show that we are on the right track.”

Mindscape and Universal Music will give more details in the coming weeks of their plans to extend the U-Sing franchise in 2010.
