Two Glu Games Win Best of 2005 Awards from IGN.com
Glu Mobile, leading creator and global publisher of mobile entertainment, has won two Best of 2005 Wireless Awards from leading video game website IGN.com.
Zuma®, an addictive mobile puzzle game based on the original PC title from PopCap GamesTM, won the award for Best Puzzle Game of 2005. Ancient Empires II, an original Glu title and sequel to the BAFTA-nominated Ancient Empires, picked up the award for Best Strategy Game.
When describing what makes Zuma such a great mobile game, IGN called it, "a brilliantly simple, but fiendishly addictive, puzzle game." Zuma was also a runner up for Game of the Year.
Ancient Empires II was also heaped with praise: "an incredibly deep turn-based strategy game with all the functionality of a console or handheld game. For gamers looking for something to really chew for weeks, Ancient Empires II provides no shortage of meat and bone."
Glu Mobile games also received the following accolades:
- DRIVER: VEGAS - runner up, Best Driving Game
- Marc Ecko's Getting Up - runner up, Best Artistic Design
- Ancient Empires II - runner up, Best Artistic Design
- Marc Ecko's Getting Up - runner up, Best Use of Sound
