TwitchCon set for San Francisco
Video streaming service announces convention September 25-26 at Moscone Center
The gaming convention calendar just got a little more crowded. Twitch today announced its first big community get-together, TwitchCon 2015, set for September 25 and 26 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
TwitchCon is meant to bring viewers and broadcasters from the video streaming service together to "experience live content from the convention center, and learn from the community's thought-leaders."
The show is being co-produced with ReedPOP. The event organizer has plenty of pop culture convention cred, as it also helps put together the New York Comic Con, Star Wars Celerbation, and UFC Fan Expo, not to mention the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) and its many offshoot shows.
"Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person," said Twitch CEO Emmett Shear. "TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community - broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us - to play and learn together."
