Twitch announces reality game show for streamers

Stream On to feature creators competing to turn live-streaming into full-time career

Twitch has today announced a new game show designed to help content creators "turn their passion for live-streaming into a career."

The show, Stream On, is geared towards the 25,000 members of Twitch's partnership program who remain just short of being able to go full-time.

Contestants will face challenges focused around streaming skills, and be evaluated by a panel of Twitch judges. Viewers in Twitch chat will also be involved in choosing who advances to the next stage of the contest.

Taking notes from established reality TV shows, Stream On will feature a weekly recap and elimination show from Twitch Studios.

"Ultimately, the contestant who best shows off the ability to entertain, lead a community, and be a pacesetter in the streaming space will emerge victorious, and be awarded a grand prize of $5,000 per month for a year-a total of $60,000-in order to help take their streaming career to the next level," said Twitch in a statement.

Submission information for Stream On is accessible on the Twitch submission page with partners encouraged to audition for participation today. Currently, only Partners from the US, Canada, and UK are eligible for Stream On.
