Turner to sell GameTap?
Company's financial results lists $18m cost as part of decision to sell the online videogames shop
Turner has decided to sell off its online videogames store, GameTap, as revealed by the quarterly financial reports of parent company Time Warner.
In the report the media company lists an expense of USD 18 million, which it claims is "a result of Turner's decision to sell its online videogame business".
"There is considerable marketplace interest in the GameTap business and brand," said a Turner spokesperson on the proposed sale, according to Gamasutra.
"We are considering various strategic options, but have reached no final agreement as yet. When there is a resolution, we will announce it."
Earlier this year, GameTap shut down its editorial department, which included veterans of IGN, GameSpot, GamePro and the Official PlayStation Magazine, and closed down Myst Online.
