ATLANTA - May 3, 2006 - Even if consumers can't attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), now they can witness the conference's biggest news as it unfolds live. GameTap, the first-of-its-kind broadband entertainment network from Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.), today announced that it will broadcast live at E3 from Monday, May 8th through Friday, May 12th, featuring coverage of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo's highly anticipated press conferences.

In addition to webcasting the convention's biggest news, GameTap will stream live content daily, including interviews between popular figures in the video game industry and animated cult hero, Space Ghost, for his "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" show. GameTap will also broadcast live on Friday with editorial takes on the Show and big news items from editors and pundits from a number of leading online and print publications.

"E3 is the biggest event of the year for the game industry, but it's for insiders only. GameTap is pulling back the curtain and inviting our audience to experience the show like they are there with live coverage all week long," said Ricardo Sanchez, GameTap's vice president of content. "See what you'll be playing this holiday season and then stick around for the largest catalogue of the greatest games ever made and exclusive video programming you won't find anywhere else."

GameTap's "Live from E3" coverage will appear on "GameTap TV," which is where the GameTap network houses a dynamic mix of channels and shows for the rapidly growing broadband community with more than 300 videos on demand.

The following are the dates of the three major console company press conferences. Specific airtimes and additional details will be posted at www.gametap.com/e3.

  • Sony - Monday, May 8th
  • Nintendo - Tuesday, May 9th
