TruSim/SELEX Systems deal

Decided to continue their working relationship.

21 MAY 2010 LEAMINGTON SPA, UK TruSim, a division of leading independent developer Blitz Games Studios, today announced a new agreement with SELEX Systems Integration Ltd (SELEX SI), which sets out a commitment to continue to work together at the leading edge of training transformation. This alliance is founded on a joint passion for enhancing capability in all training arenas through the smart use of engaging and immersive technologies.

TruSim and SELEX SI originally worked together as part of a £2m Technology Strategy Board co-funded project, which also included academic partners and the medical education charity Advanced Life Support Group. The project was aimed at developing robust methodologies that would aid the creation of effective game based training applications and demonstrating their impact on learning.

The recently completed project created three prototypes: Triage Trainer, Ward Off Infection and Patient Rescue, which have all been trialled with users and have been widely welcomed as genuinely useful additions to the training portfolio. In controlled trials, Triage Trainer was proven to be more effective than a traditional training method.

The two companies have complementary offerings: TruSim brings leading edge interactive game technologies and innovation in designing immersive engaging experiences, while SELEX SI has a long established track record in delivering training solutions that enable private and public organisations to develop staff knowledge and skills, and where necessary, change attitudes.

Mary Matthews, TruSim’s Strategy and Business Development Director, says: “We’re delighted to be continuing our collaboration with SELEX SI and working together to bring the engagement and immersiveness of the best video games to make a difference in the way organisations develop their staff.”

Neil Stewart, Deputy Director of SELEX SI Training Solution team, says: “By continuing our successful working relationship with TruSim, SELEX Systems Integration Ltd is looking forward to the opportunity to provide organisations with training solutions that can realise the learning potential of video game technology.”
