Jeff Lujan and Bob Drobish, two former K2 Network executives, have announced the formation of True Games Interactive.
Lujan was senior VP of global publishing for the MMO service provider; Drobish was the company's senior VP of operations.
"With the continued growth of the online game industry, True Games will be at the forefront with a new approach, a unique business model and a proprietary game platform," said Drobish, now COO of True Games.
"We have been overwhelmed with the interest shown by potential development and publishing partners across the globe. We are thrilled with the speed of our progress and encouraged by the support, trust and interest in our new model."
"Given the demand for online gaming and the tremendous development talent available, we want to embrace this opportunity and bring content of value and quality to this growing segment on an International scale," said Lujan, True Games' chief publishing officer.
"We have built a strong team of talented industry veterans to lead True Games into the online gaming world and we are working with some of the industry's most respected developers to deliver high-quality gaming experiences."
True Games will be offering a new business model to independent developers and publishers within the free-to-play, micro-transaction gaming segment using a proprietary game platform.
The company, based in Orange County, California, is currently negotiating several product deals and securing Series A funding. It plans to launch its first title in the summer of 2008.
