Gamers at the CPL European Winter Qualifier go head to head using Dell’s latest gaming system – the Dimension XPS Generation 4
Bracknell, UK, 2nd December 2004 - Dell today announced its headline sponsorship of the CPL European Winter Qualifier that sees the new high-powered DimensionTM XPS desktop used for the Counter-StrikeTM tournament. Sixteen teams of the top gamers from across Sweden, Italy, Iceland, Portugal, Germany, France and the UK will battle it out for a place in the CPL final in Dallas.
Designed for ultimate gaming performance, Dell's XPS Generation 4 offers the Intel® 925XE Express chipset and latest Pentium® 4 Extreme Edition processors, along with ATI® RadeonTM X800XT graphics.

The redesigned Dimension XPS Generation 4 sports an arctic silver and black chassis and is the most expandable Dimension system offered. Customers can also modify the look of their XPS systems by changing the lighted front bezel into any one of seven colours. The CPL Qualifier
The European qualifying heat of the CPL Counter-Strike Championship Tournament is taking place between the 3rd - 5th December 2004 in Black Isle Film Studios, London. Sixteen teams will compete in real time using an online version of Counter-Strike, an action-oriented multiplayer computer game, for a highly regarded position in the Dallas CPL Finals held 15th December - 19th December 2004, with an almighty $1,000,000 (£520,000 / 750,000 Euro) prize fund.
Intel® are overall sponsors of the gaming tournament which also encompasses the Bloodline event to find talent for the 4Kings clan and a 'Bring Your Own Computer' LAN-Party for up to 500 players and facilities for spectators.
