Renowned artist Yoshitaka Amano and game designer Michel Ancel took the stage in Paris recently to discuss their highly divergent views on character and game design - today on GamesIndustry.biz, we have the full report on this unique event.

Amano is best known in videogames circles as the artist whose concepts fuelled the character and world designs of many of the Final Fantasy titles, while Ancel is the creator of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil, as well as the designer of last Christmas' hugely successful King Kong title.

The two were brought together at a special event in Paris where they shared a stage to discuss and debate their quite different viewpoints on design - and ultimately to collaborate, as artist and designer, on a few simple concepts sketched by Amano.
