Tocmag 'GameZone' brings the latest gaming news to mobiles

London, 30th November 2006

Tocmag - the free user-generated mobile content service - this week launched a portal dedicated to gaming enthusiasts. The 'GameZone' ( http://www.tocmag.com/newsite_gameszone.php) will promote the best Tocmags for gaming news, reviews, previews and cheats.

A Tocmag is a six-page mini magazine that can be downloaded to mobiles. Anyone can build a Tocmag, totally free of charge, and fill it with video clips from games, screenshots and text. Once downloaded, the java Tocmags are automatically stored on a phone's memory.

Some of the most popular Tocmags to date include a review of Xbox 360's SmackDown and PS3's Genji: Days of the Blade. The SmackDown Tocmag has already generated nearly 13,000 downloads to mobiles across the world, despite only being built at the beginning of November. To view this Tocmag, download www.tocmag.com/smackdown to your mobile internet browser.

'Tocmags are proving particularly popular amongst teenagers who send each other links to the latest Tocmags via SMS,' reports Tocmag founder Brad Ells. 'Gaming bloggers are also using the service to create mobile versions of their blog postings.'

Top Tocmag publishers can make money through their Tocmags - by offering advertising space or being paid by developers to promote new games. It raises the possibility of teenagers generating an income from their gaming knowledge.
