Tira adds BREW support to Jump Product Suite

Mobile porting system is upgraded with a host of new features

Canadian firm Tira Wireless has announced the release of a new version of its Tira Jump Product Suite, a software solution which simplifies the porting of mobile content to the wide range of handsets currently on the market.

The new version adds support for BREW applications, along with the existing support for mobile Java, as well as adding a wide array of new functionality to the platform - including rolling out different versions of the suite's Workflow Manager for publishers and software services companies.

The new version also incorporates an "Over The Air" server, which allows applications to be downloaded onto devices directly to speed up the testing process, and a mobile Java testing tool, the Tira Automated Verification Server, which picks up basic MIDP errors before the application is adapted and optimised.

From a management perspective, Tira has also added an integrated reporting tool which gives project managers a quick view of the status of any given project, along with the ability to support outsourcing and multi-organisation views so that content providers can get an overview of how work orders are progressing.

"This release expands our technology base by combining our in-depth mobile knowledge with the most powerful and flexible features in digital asset management and workflow systems," according to Tira Wireless CEO Doug Barre.

"Our support for BREW in the workflow manager is the continuation of the execution of our vision to deliver a comprehensive end to end mobile content deployment solution - a solution which supports multiple content types and addresses the growing complexities of mobile content deployment, including market planning, content preparation, adaptation and optimisation, asset management, and workflow."
