Thunderful hires PlayStation's Kathrin Strangfeld as it reorganises leadership
Former European lead's arrival coincides with new roles for five senior members of the group
Growing Swedish group Thunderful has made another key hire in Kathrin Strangfeld, who joins the senior management team.
Strangfeld takes on the role of vice president of business management and transformation, and will be responsible for overseeing the operations of Thunderful Games.
She joins after a 14-year stint at PlayStation, where she spent the past three and a half years as global senior manager and European lead for corporate strategy and development.
During her time at the platform holder, she also held several business development roles.
Her appointment coincides with a number of job changes at Thunderful Games, which will now be led by chief games officer Agostino Simonetta. A former PlayStation and Xbox director, Simonetta joined back in June as chief strategy and investment officer.
Callum Underwood, who joined when Thunderful acquired his consultancy firm Robot Teddy in October, now takes on the role of vice president of investment.
Tom Beardsmore, CEO of Coatsink (which was acquired in 2020), becomes vice president of strategy and business, while the studio's COO Eddie Beardsmore takes on the role of vice president of studios.
Finally, Dieter Schoeller -- CEO of Headup Games, another of Thunderful's 2021 acquisitions -- will continue to run the group's publishing department as vice president of publishing.
Thunderful completed a successful IPO in 2020 and since then has continued to grow with the aforementioned acquisitions, as well as purchasing Swedish studio Station Interactive and Spanish developer Stage Clear Studios.
