Three of the best for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH's mobile division
PES 2008, Silent Hill and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow readied for Autumn launch as key Konami properties head to mobiles
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH is to bring three of its most famous series to mobile phones in 2007, with conversions of PES 2008, Silent Hill and Castlevania on their way.
All three titles are due for release in the Autumn, with PES 2008 timed to coincide with the video game versions. Featuring a dedicated graphic and AI engine developed by Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH's European mobile production facility the mobile game has realistic ball physics, player animation and game play. The result is the most advanced and realistic football simulation for mobile phones, with the many feints, passes, shots, headers and runs of the video game making the transition to mobile. The game includes six playing modes featuring a wide range of officially licensed national and club teams, as well as five pitches with varying weather conditions. A secondary one-button access control system has also been implemented, allowing users to play with just their thumb.
Silent Hill marks the mobile debuts of Konami's seminal horror series and will be released in September. Set within an abandoned orphanage within the fog-shrouded town, Silent Hill utilizes a unique first-person view and point-and-click gameplay to draw gamers into its atmospheric world. An all-new scenario reveals new truths regarding Silent Hill and the people within, and the story can be seen from the perspective of three playable characters. All the monsters and scares of the Silent Hill series come to vivid life in the mobile game, as new secrets are revealed and old one answered as the player delves ever deeper into the orphanage.
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is a conversion of the best-selling Game Boy Advance title, and is perceived as one of the best games in the long-running series. The year is 2035 and the player and a friend have been trapped within a massive castle owned by the Lord of Darkness. As the pair search for a way out, hordes of monsters arise and try to prevent any escape, while magic spells and weapons can be found and used against them. The player can also capture their souls to gain their specific attributes and abilities, adding a strategic element to the classic platform action.
With its sprawling map, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow marks a welcome return for the series as it brings its clever gameplay to mobile users for the first time this December.
