THQ Wireless reports drop in revenues

Net loss for second quarter stands at 9.49 million Euro

THQ Wireless has published its financial report for the quarter ending June 30th, revealing a drop in revenues from 8.1 million Euro during the same period last year to 5.98 million Euro.

Net losses stood at 9.49 million Euro, up from 3.1 million Euro, and revenues fell from 124 million Euro to 108.8 million Euro.

Speaking in a conference call following the publication of the report, THQ CEO Brian Farrell said the performance of the publisher's mobile gaming division had been "pretty consistent" with expectations, adding: "You know, you're comparing to a strong first quarter with Star Wars.

"We're tracking to the approximate 10 per cent growth that we talked about and again, we should be looking as we... Shift over the product line for more casual gaming. You should see more significant growth in fiscal '08," he concluded.

THQ Wireless was established in 2001, and now distributes titles to more than 750 million subscribers globally. This year's product line-up includes mobile versions of console titles Juiced and Saint's Row, plus The Sopranos Poker and Star Wars Imperial Ace.
