THQ Wireless announces two new WWE mobile games

US and European gamers to get WWE Raw and SmackDown this autumn

THQ Wireless and JAKKS Pacific has announced the imminent launch of two new exclusive mobile games based on the critically acclaimed and globally successful World Wrestling Entertainment brand.

"We are renowned for providing gamers with the most authentic WWE branded videogames and mobile is no exception," said Tim Walsh, President of THQ Wireless. "We look forward to branching out to other demographics, in addition to maintaining our mobile gamer base, with these entertaining, branded games."

Scheduled for release this autumn across all carriers worldwide and set to feature on Verizon Wireless, WWE SmackDown for mobiles features seven of the biggest stars of SmackDown, including their own signature moves. Using performance categories such as strength, submission, endurance, technique and speed, players can choose their ultimate combatant, or create their own superstar for the first time.

Classic moves such as the knee strike, spinning kick, back chop, roundhouse kick, kitchen sink and throat thrust all feature in the new game, in addition to a range of character specific secret moves.

WWE Raw will include the latest and greatest stars of the WWE universe, including the mobile debut of WWE Divas such as Trish Stratus, Victoria and Stacy Keibler. Signature moves, secret combos and performance categories to help select the ultimate wresting champion will all feature in the new game, which is expected to be featured on both Sprint/Nextel and Cingular networks.

Nelo Lucich, VP of Interactive for JAKKS Pacific commented: "WWE Raw and SmackDown for mobile gamers are packed with more performance, more superstars and incredibly detailed and realistic gameplay, making them the best in wireless games for the WWE franchise to date."

THQ Wireless currently reaches approximately 1 billion consumers through an extensive global distribution network and partnerships with more than 120 carriers worldwide. The company also partners with handset manufacturers, portals and retailers to distribute mobile content. The two mobile releases will coincide with THQ's latest WWE console release, WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2006 on the PS2.
