LYON, FRANCE - 17 September 2007 - Atari Europe and CD Projekt Sp. z.o.o. today announced a host of musical collaborations in support of The Witcher, the highly anticipated fantasy role-playing game for PC from developers CD Projekt based on the universe created by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

First on to centre stage is Vader, the Polish death metal band with a huge following, both at home and across Europe, devoted to their uncompromising music. Vader have recorded a track entitled 'Sword of The Witcher' which will feature on their forthcoming new album and DVD. The track will also form part of CD Projekt's "Inspired by The Witcher" promotional album which features English language compositions by a host of Polish acts, from rock and folk all the way to electro, all inspired by The Witcher. Read more about Vader at www.vader.pl and watch the video to 'Sword of The Witcher' on the game's official website at www.thewitcher.com.

"It's great to be able to take part in an international project such as this, which puts the music we believe in and love in front of so many new people," said Tomasz Dziubiński of Vader's record label Metal Mind Productions. "Vader already have a devoted following, and with the The Witcher set to explode globally this can only get bigger."

"Vader were very cool to work with - they come across great on video clips and fit perfectly with the dark vision of the Witcher universe," said video director Maciej Pawelczyk of Inbornmedia. "Peter is a fine actor and there is even a similarity between him and the Witcher. I always wanted to direct videos which would be used in games - I can see the film and game industries increasingly crossing paths. It's also a pleasure to work with such a legendary company as Atari. I think the game will be a massive success"

Next into the limelight is symphonic metal phenomenon Nightwish, Finland's most internationally successful rock band. With a massive following all over the world, they bring their force to bear on The Witcher in Germany with the inclusion of the video for their latest single "Amaranth" with the game when it launches in October. Other promotional activities as part of the deal with the world's biggest independent heavy metal record label Nuclear Blast include a sweepstake where fans can get their hands on exclusive signed goodies.

"We are very pleased with this great collaboration between our most successful band Nightwish and the excellent game The Witcher," said York Eysel, Head of Distribution at Nuclear Blast. "Atari is a brand with a great heritage and, like Nuclear Blast, stands for top quality entertainment. Put simply, it fits together perfectly."

The new Nightwish album "Dark Passion Play" is released on September 28th, 2007 as limited edition 2CD digipak, 2LP picture gatefold vinyl, standard CD and strictly limited mail order edition (check http://shop.nuclearblast.de). The Witcher represents the pinnacle of storytelling in role-playing games, shattering the line between good and evil with a world where moral ambiguity reigns. In a beautiful, rich game universe based on the writings of renowned Polish fantasy author Andrej Sapkowski and created by artists first, technology second, the player becomes his own hero in an epic, action-packed narrative uniquely defined by his actions. Returning to the roots of the role-playing genre with a fresh and modern approach, The Witcher emphasizes story and character development in a vibrant world, while incorporating tactically-deep real-time combat like no game before it.

Created to provide entertainment for both fans of role-playing games and those seeking fast-paced action, The Witcher brings together epic storytelling and dynamic, visually stunning, and tactically deep action.

The Witcher is scheduled for release in October 2007. For more information about the game visit www.thewitcher.com and for more details about Atari's entire product line up visit www.atari.com.
