The Week Ahead: Jan 28-Feb 1
The weekly preview of what to look out for on GamesIndustry.biz next week
The week begins with the latest Stock Report, something which should make for interesting and informative reading, given the up-and-down week the industry's just had.
There were significant financial results from Microsoft and Nintendo, positive news for Sony and Take-Two, as well as some disappointing news for THQ and Rockstar - all set against a backdrop of currency and market fluctuations and macro-economic concerns.
Looking to the mobile games world we'll have a feature on the state of that particular part of the market, following the latest Osney Media Mobile Games Forum, focusing on the issues and potentially significant developments in that area.
We'll also have the last in our mini-series looking at the funding of the games industry, as Rob Fahey follows his analysis of North America and Europe with a look at the situation for developers and publishers in Asia.
The second half of next week will see this year's IMAGINA event taking place in Monaco, and we'll be on hand to report from the 3D community conference.
Sales-wise we should see a fresh face in the charts following last week's release of the latest Burnout title, the first significant title to hit the shops this year.
