The vice president of Meta's VR social platform has left the company

Vivek Sharma, who previously served as VP of Facebook Gaming, leaves the tech firm after nearly six years

Last Friday, the vice president of Meta's virtual reality social platform, Vivek Sharma, left the tech giant for a new position.

As reported by Reuters, the Horizon executive leaves the company after nearly six years.

During his career he previously served as vice president of of Facebook Gaming.

Sharma hasn't announced what his new role is yet.

The executive's exit follows a month after the FTC objected to Meta's purchase of Within.

The objection was a speed bump in the tech giant's M&A activity of VR companies.

Its additions have included BigBox VR, Sanzaru Games, Ready at Dawn, Downpour Interactive, and Beat Saber developer Beat Games.
