The Price Is Right

Online version coming on down, with cash prizes.

Newton, Mass. – April 1, 2008 – Casual game players come on down. You’re the next contestants on The Price Is Right! WorldWinner today announced a licensing agreement with FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), in which the online game site will develop a cash competition version of The Price Is Right. Soon, game show fans and casual gamers will be able to compete online in one of America’s most beloved game shows of all time.

“The Price Is Right is one of the longest-running game shows, yet it continues to add modern touches to maintain its popularity. WorldWinner is proud to be part of the latest transformation of the game show into an online cash competition version,” said Peter Blacklow, president of WorldWinner. “Most of our players undoubtedly grew up watching The Price Is Right and we’re pleased to allow them the opportunity to experience the thrill of competing in their favorite game show from the comfort of their own homes.”

The Price Is Right was created in 1956 and remains a stationary fixture in American culture as one of the first game shows to choose contestants directly from its studio audience. Under the terms of this agreement, WorldWinner will create a skill-based, single-player version of the game that lets players test their pricing skills for cash and prizes by participating in challenges similar to those on the weekday telecast. In 2007, WorldWinner announced a similar deal with FME to develop cash competitions for another of its wildly successful game show brands, Family Feud.

“As with the cash competition version of Family Feud, we expect WorldWinner to translate the nostalgia and excitement of The Price Is Right game show into an online experience that lets gamers compete like contestants on the show,” adds Jason Turner, senior director of interactive for FME in North America.

WorldWinner holds the exclusive rights to the online cash competition version of The Price Is Right in the U.S. Scheduled to launch in the late summer, the cash version of The Price Is Right will be available exclusively via WorldWinner and its partner sites, including AOL Games, GSN.com, MSN Games and Pogo.com.
