TGS: Sony promises closer relationship with developers

During his Tokyo Game Show keynote address, SCE president Kaz Hirai promised a "much closer relationship" with Sony's partners.
Hirai pointed to Crisis Core, a Square Enix collaboration on the PSP, as a recent example.
"Some of these collaborative endeavours are going on behind the scenes already," Hirai said, "largely in terms of development assistance courtesy of Sony Worldwide Studios. Sony is also listening to the opinions of developers whose games are already out."
Having acquired SN Systems in 2005, one thing Sony will do is share the company's development tools, Hirai said.
Sony also plans to strengthen first-party title development. Hirai said that Worldwide Studios is critical to that, with its sharing of assets and know-how. Hirai also announced that Sony had acquired Evolution Studios, the developer of Motorstorm.
Among its own titles being shown on the TGS floor, Sony showed trailers of Devil May Cry 4, PixelJunk Racers, SEGA Rally, Call of Duty 4, Tony Hawk, Turok, Guitar Hero, Final Fantasy XIII Versus, and Time Crisis 4.
