Telcogames boosts Symbian product line
Retro classic Nebulus launched for Smartphones
Mobile games and content publisher, Telcogames, has announced the launch of another classic retro title, specifically developed for the advanced 3D gaming capabilities of Symbian Smartphones.
Originally released in 1987 and appearing on the Commodore Amiga in 1998, Nebulus (also known as Tower Toppler and Castelian) has since been released for almost a dozen different home computer and games consoles.
The new mobile version has been developed by Telcogames' recently acquired internal development studio, Symbian gaming specialists Magic Productions. The game features all the levels, creatures, enemies, end of level bosses and bonuses of the original game.
Niklas Bakos, head of content at Telcogames, commented: "Nebulus is an incredibly addictive title, which is every bit as playable, challenging and complex as the original. It proves that with great game design and carefully considered implementation, mobile games can be every bit as much fun as handheld - or even home consoles. We are delighted to offer Nebulus to Smartphone owners worldwide."
Making full use of the power, memory, screen size, controls and graphical capabilities of the current generation of Symbian smartphones from Nokia, Nebulus boasts fast, smooth animation, authentic sounds and music and bright, colourful, full-screen graphics.
The game challenges players to climb eight perilous towers, riddled with traps, pitfalls and hordes of enemies that are intent on sending the central character plummeting to their death. Each tower must be destroyed to win the game, but the increasingly challenging levels each contain a fierce end of level boss, making the task even tougher to complete.
Available for all Smartphones running the Series 60 operating system - including the latest Nokia N Series and N-Gage game deck, Nebulus is the latest edition to Telcogames growing portfolio of advanced gaming titles. In recent months, the company has re-invented numerous cult classics, including Another World, QWAK and Cannon Fodder, with more titles promised before the end of the year.
