Target unveils videogame pre-order cards
USD 1 reservations to reward consumers with USD 5 GiftCard upon receipt of title
US retailer Target will offer USD 1 videogame reservation cards from April 19, rewarding consumers who take up the option with a USD 5 gift card on receipt of the title.
The Target GiftCard can be put toward any future purchase, and effectively reduces the cost of any new title by USD 4-5, depending on whether the initial USD 1 cost is taken as a prepayment of the selected game or merely a reservation charge.
"We've created a reservation guarantee that ensures guests will get their hands on popular games the day they are released, and a USD 5 GiftCard upon purchase adds even more value," said Mark Schindele, senior vice president, Target.
"We are constantly striving to make sure our guests find everything they need to work, live and play all in one convenient and simplified shopping experience."
