Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate, one of the most celebrated adventure game heros in the history of computer games, is coming back to retail stores throughout the UK, Scandinavia and a number of European territories, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

Lace Mamba Global, one of the UK’s leading independent computer and video games publishers, is proud to announce that it has teamed up with Telltale Games, Inc., to publish Tales of Monkey Island™ in the aforementioned territories.

“We’ll bring adventure game fans what they have been waiting so long for: A fantastic Collector’s Edition of all the Tales of Monkey Island episodes, plus more”, says Jason Codd, Lace Mamba Global’s European Managing Director. “We’re very excited about this partnership with Telltale games and very grateful that they have chosen us to be their publishing partner in these important territories. At Lace Mamba Global, we’re all big adventure game and especially Monkey Island fans, so it’s a huge honour for us to be working on Guybrush’s latest adventure, which is the first new Monkey Island franchise retail release here for more than ten years”, he adds.

Tales of Monkey Island brings Guybrush Threepwood back to PC screens. While explosively stripping the evil pirate LeChuck of his demonic mojo, Guybrush inadvertently infects the entire Caribbean with the arch-fiend's expelled voodoo, which threatens to transform buccaneers into unruly pirate monsters. Pursued by a notorious cut-throat pirate hunter  and a creepy French physician  who believes that Guybrush's eerily-infected hand holds the secret of eternal life, Threepwood sails the seven seas in search of La Esponja Grande, a legendary sea sponge with unparalleled voodoo exfoliating abilities. But little does Guybrush know, his quest is part of a larger, more sinister plot, and good and evil are not always as they seem…

Who can Guybrush trust? Where can he turn? Everything you think you know will be challenged as Tales of Monkey Island builds to its unexpected finale!

“Tales of Monkey Island is an epic adventure in five parts. All five episodes have been very successfully released on digital download platforms, yet are not available in retail stores in the territories mentioned above. Being huge adventure game fans ourselves, we have decided to bring a bumper filled Collector’s Edition to the retail stores, which not only contains all five Tales of Monkey Island episodes, but also great Monkey Island memorabilia items. We will soon reveal details of the extra content of the Collector’s Edition, and we will have some great surprises for all the Monkey Island fans in our territories”, says Claas Wolter, Head of PR & Marketing at Lace Mamba Global.

Lace Mamba Global plans to release Tales of Monkey Island as a Collector’s Edition for PC on March 25 th, 2011.
