Taco Fu

"Advergame" on Taco Bell website earns award from Ad:Tech.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 15, 2008 (Dallas, TX) – Dallas-based Blockdot has received ad:tech’s prestigious People’s Choice Award for “Taco Fu,” an awesomely addictive arcade-style game designed for the Web site of Taco Bell.

Ad:tech, which has recognized talented visual and technology designers and strategic thinkers for more than a decade, announced Blockdot’s victory in the “Best Use of Rich Media” category at their San Francisco awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 15. Winners were determined by a public vote from a list of finalists put together by an ad:tech panel of judges.

In “Taco Fu,” you’re forced to defend your honor – and your Taco Bell food – against a hungry horde. Use your keyboard to jump, punch, and kick the masked bandits rushing toward you. Need an extra blast of power? Launch a Fire Sauce Ball at your opponents! But watch out: If the bandits reach your tasty Taco Bell item, they’ll eat it — and it’s game over!

Game players that win battles and advance to higher rounds can score prizes, such as desktop wallpaper and an instant message icon.

With a push-the-fun/push-the-excitement theme that combines the Wild West and non-stop martial arts action, “Taco Fu” entertains and challenges players — making for an awesome gaming experience!

The game is available at Blockdot’s gaming portal, www.kewlbox.com, as well as at www.tacobell.com.
