SwiftShader
Software renderer licensed by Adobe for Flash Player and Adobe AIR.
Toronto, ONTARIO – October 27, 2010 – TransGaming, Inc. (TSX-V: TNG) announced today at the Adobe MAX 2010 Conference that Adobe has licensed TransGaming’s SwiftShader software renderer to enable future versions of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR to render 3D capabilities regardless of the 3D hardware present in a system, and even on systems with no hardware-based 3D support.
SwiftShader is the fastest pure software 3D renderer with DirectX® 9.0 / OpenGL ES 2.0 class features, and supports advanced graphics features including shaders, floating point rendering, anti-aliasing, and much more. SwiftShader can provide the same APIs that developers are already using for their games and applications. This makes it possible to directly integrate SwiftShader into applications without any changes to source code. Developers can alternatively integrate more deeply with SwiftShader through custom application-specific APIs. SwiftShader achieves its unprecedented level of performance by dynamically compiling highly optimized code specialized to an application's 3D rendering needs.
TransGaming has developed and deployed a wide variety of consumer facing experiences with its 3D graphics and portability technologies, including many found today in a wide variety of video games, web-based applications and global standards. With the integration of TransGaming’s SwiftShader technology, Adobe Flash Platform developers can be sure that users who don’t have 3D hardware support, can still experience dynamic 3D content and experiences in Flash Player and Adobe AIR.
"Working with Adobe on next generation 3D capabilities is a natural fit for TransGaming’s SwiftShader graphics technology and means that Adobe developers will be able to deliver 3D content on practically any hardware,” commented Gavriel State, Founder & CTO of TransGaming, Inc. ”In addition to broader hardware compatibility, SwiftShader is portable, flexible and efficient - adding as little as 100KB to the size of the distributable content for Flash Player and Adobe AIR.”
“Future Adobe Flash Platform tools and technologies will drive 3D innovation on the web just as we powered the web video revolution,” said Anup Murarka, director of product marketing for the Flash Platform at Adobe. “TransGaming’s SwiftShader will be an important component, helping to ensure all Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR users can experience rich 3D graphics capabilities.”
