Sviper completes second funding round
German mobile studio staffing up to release two new titles
Sviper, a Hamburg mobile studio founded by Ole Schaper, Mark Buchholz and Stephen Reichert, has raised a seed funding round from Rocket Internet's venture capital arm Global Founders Capital. The company plans to focus on simple, skill-based games with involved player progression.
The three founders have a well established games background, bringing experience from Goodgame, Innogames and Bigpoint. Their first game, Wild City Rush - Urban Jungle Adventure, will be coming to iOS and Android phones before the end of the month. GFC's investment will help market that game, fund a second and recruit key staff for the future of the studio.
"The first big investment in Sviper comes with perfect timing," said Schaper. "It enables us to start building a portfolio of unique high-quality games. With this financial backing, we will hire top talent and are in the best position to capitalise on the industry's huge potential."
