Supreme Gamer Challenge
Carphone Warehouse's to decide its FIFA 10 champion on June 4th.
The Carphone Warehouse’s ‘Supreme Gamer Challenge’ has been searching for the UK’s number one gamer by inviting fans of the popular football game, FIFA 10, to compete against each other live in store, and on Friday, 4th June, regional finalists from across the UK will play for the title.
Earlier this year dedicated gaming fans competed in regional heats held at Carphone Warehouse stores in Exeter, Salisbury, Oxford, Brighton, Cardiff, Manchester, Ipswich and Stoke.
The eight gamers who claimed victory will now compete against each other in a public play off where they will test their gaming skills against the best of the rest for the tile of ‘The Carphone Warehouse’s Supreme Gamer’.
The gamers will compete live on EA SPORTS 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa in store at the Westfield Shopping Centre in London in a series of tense fixtures.
The regional finalists are:
- Shumon Miah from Brighton
- Niall Wilson from Bristol
- Steven Turner from Exeter
- Robert Brewster from Huddersfield
- Jason Penaluna from Salisbury
- Chris Bullard from Ipswich
- Ben Andrews from Stoke
- Michael Barrett from Oxford
A spokesperson from The Carphone Warehouse comments: “The Supreme Gamer Challenge has been a great way of bringing together gamers from around the UK.
“The regional play offs found the best gamers from each area so we’re looking forward to what is sure to be a tense finals event.”
As well as the title of ‘The Carphone Warehouse Supreme Gamer', the finalists are competing for the chance to win a 32 HDTV, a gaming console of their choice, two accompanying games plus a Logitech Squeezebox (music streaming device).
