Super Mario Maker grabs Japanese #1

Enters chart with 138,000 copies sold

Nintendo's Super Mario Maker entered the Japanese software chart at number one this week, shifting over 138,000 copies. It beat its closest rival, new entry at two Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village DX, by close to 79,000 units.

In hardware the arrival of Mario of the software chart helped give the Wii U a boost, pushing it up to second place in the sales race. The New 3DS XL was top though, with 21,504 units sold.
