String 'em In

Interactive TV word game branches out onto iPhone, PDAs, consoles and Facebook.

London, January 20th 2009

Two Way Media announces today that its most popular word game String ’em In TM is to be distributed onto a number of new platforms as it looks to build on and dramatically increase its already substantial play rates on interactive TV. In 2009 it is set to reach new audiences on iPhones, PDAs, games consoles and via social networking sites such as FaceBook.

At present String ’em In, which is the biggest word game on TV, has proved an enduring favourite on Sky and is the most played game on Virgin Media. It is a strategic wordplay game where players have to find as many words as possible in a set time.

Two Way Media will launch String ‘em In on FaceBook during Q1 2009, where the popular social networking site provides an ideal launch pad for the community based game. Two Way Media has also signed a deal with Connect2Media, the cross-platform games company, who have adapted the game for mobile phones, iPhones and PDAs and plan to have it ready for sale in Q2 this year.

In addition, Two Way Media has teamed up with games console developer AtomFire Productions, who can develop the game for a number of popular games platforms, and is talking to potential publishers about the product.

James Turner, the sales director at Two Way Media, comments: “We are very excited about the many different opportunities for bringing our most popular game to an even wider audience. String ’em In is a compelling, clever, fun game which can be played anywhere, anytime so it makes absolute sense for us to take it on to many different platforms.”

John Steels, the Studio Head from AtomFire, says: “As a trusted and experienced games developer, adapting the successful game String ’em In for new platforms is a fantastic opportunity for us. Together with Two Way Media we will be taking this and other Two Way Media casual games products to market.”

Eric Hobson, CEO of Connect2Media said: “String ’em In is a huge game that fits perfectly with our strategic goal of being a multi-platform entertainment company. String ’em In is fiendishly addictive and it ‘translates’ very well to global markets so we anticipate it being hugely popular throughout our extensive international distribution footprint.”

Eric Hobson, CEO of Connect2Media, adds: “We are really pleased to be working with Two Way Media, whose simple but fun game String ’em In, is the perfect package for mobile platforms. Its universal appeal means that the game will work well throughout our extensive international distribution footprint.”
