Streamline chosen for asset outsourcing on Saints Row

Videogame creative and engineering outsourcing firm Streamline Studios has announced its involvement with Volition's upcoming Xbox 360 title Saints Row, for which it has been hired to create a large number of assets.

Saints Row, which is set to be published by THQ next year, is one of the first Grand Theft Auto style games to be announced for the next-generation platforms, and is described as an "urban open-world" title.

Dutch firm Streamline was tapped by Volition to provide assets for use in the development of the highly detailed streaming cityscape in the game - a challenge which the firm says led it to upgrade its production pipeline to meet the demands of next-generation development.

"Saints Row exemplifies the amazing results of when world class developers and publishers rely on our highly skilled support services to complete their next-gen developments," according to chief creative officer Hector Fernandez.

Streamline is now working on four next-generation titles, and is actively seeking staff to grow its team as it ramps up production.
