Stardock Entertainment has announced the establishment of a new worldwide publishing arm which will focus on supporting and assisting the growth of independently developed software titles.
Building on the success of its strategy title Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, Stardock is committed to the expansion of the indie sector and aims to provide a full suite of services for game developers.
Offering a new revenue-sharing model, the publishing arm will provide independent developers with marketing, advertising and public relations services, in addition to worldwide distribution both online and at retail.
Brian Clair, Stardock Entertainment's director, commented: "With Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, we proved that we could leverage our internal resources - such as TotalGaming.net - and our external partnerships to create a successful product launch online and at retail."
"We now want to help other leading independent developers, providing marketing and distribution services to get their games to market and ensure widespread awareness and sales."
The company has also announced the first expansion pack for Galactic Civilizations II, which will be released digitally through TotalGaming.net this autumn, offering a new single player campaign, new alien races and a host of gameplay and AI tweaks.
