Stardew Valley sells 1m

One man development team finds success with farming sim

Just last month we reported that farming simulation game Stardew Valley had sold 425,000 copies on Steam and GoG after just 12 days on sale. Now it's passed the one million sales milestone.

"It's actually at 1,007,000 [copies sold] as of now," Chucklefish Games told Polygon.

"It's been really exciting for us to help bring this game to people's attention and the success really couldn't have come to a more deserving person!"

The game was created by lone developer Eric Barone.

"I never expected it to have such wide appeal. I mean, I'm super happy about it and I'm blown away by the reaction, but I'm surprised too," he said to PC Gamer of the last 425,000 milestone.

Stardew Valley was released on February 26 and retails at $14.99.
