Starbreeze CFO Sebastian Ahlskog steps down

Former Remedy CFO Mika Reini will hold the position temporarily while a permanent replacement is found

Sebastian Ahlskog has stepped down as CFO of Starbreeze after three years in the role.

He will be replaced on a temporary basis by Mika Reini, who was previously the CFO of Remedy Entertainment for 17 years. However, Starbreeze is actively seeking a permanent replacement for Ahlskog, who has departed to seek, "new challenges outside of the company."

Ahlskog leaves at an ambiguous time for Starbreeze. The commercial failure of Raid: World War II prompted the Swedish company to raise $30 million through a share sale at the start of the year. At the time, Starbreeze said the money would in part be used to increase the marketing push around Overkill's The Walking Dead.

In calendar 2017, the company recorded a $22.2 million pre-tax loss. Improving on that return this year largely rests on Overkill's The Walking Dead, which is due for release next month.
