Resident Evil 4 Remake was the best-selling game at UK retail for a second week in a row, despite its sales dropping by 69% week-on-week.
Even with this decline, Resident Evil 4 was comfortably ahead of the next biggest seller, FIFA 23. A 34% rise in sales pushed the EA's football game up one place to No.2, knocking Hogwarts Legacy down to No.3.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 rose two places to No.4 thanks to a 58% boost in sales – one of many titles that benefited from discounts and promotions. In fact, GfK reports that 34 of the games in the Top 40 saw a week-on-week boost thanks to sales events.
The biggest beneficiary was Warner Bros' Gotham Knights, which re-entered the charts at No.6 after a 999% rise in sales.
Meanwhile, Super Mario Odyssey saw a 5% sales boost thanks to sales of the Switch hardware bundle and ongoing promotions for The Super Mario Bros Movie, which hits cinemas this Thursday.
