Spov.tv - Call of Duty: Black Ops

London, UK – November 12, 2010 - Spov has collaborated with Call of Duty® developer, Treyarch, to produce loading movies for the year’s most anticipated title, Call of Duty®: Black Ops . 

Building upon the Treyarch-created narrative, Spov, who has a long-standing history with the blockbuster Call of Duty® series, utilised a stark and compelling art style reminiscent of the Cold War-era theme to craft the visuals for the loading movie sequences.  These scenes reflect the paranoia and confusion of the time, as well as continuing the protagonist’s story as the story-arc progresses.

A starting point for Spov’s visual interpretation was the technology of the period in which the game is set.  Featuring microfiche readers move, Nixie tubes - precursors to LED displays - and redacted text add key plot points and move the engrossing story as presented to the main character.

Call of Duty®: Black Ops , developed by Treyarch and published by Activision Publishing, Inc. is scheduled to be released worldwide on November 9 ^th.  The title is rated “(TBD)” (TBD) by PEGI and is scheduled for release on Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Wii™ and Windows PC.  For additional Call of Duty information visit www.callofduty.com/blackops and also follow via Twitter @JD_2020.
