Splinter Cell still number one in UK charts

Capcom celebrates top five success for Wii exclusive Monster Hunter Tri

Ubisoft's Xbox 360 exclusive Splinter Cell: Conviction has enjoyed a second week at the top of the UK sales charts, despite a drop in sales of 46 per cent.

Thanks to Just Dance Ubisoft also took the number two spot, despite a drop in sales of 31 per cent for the Wii exclusive title.

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City remained at number three despite suffering a 31 per cent fall in sales.

Wii Fit Plus moved up one place to number four, with an only 3 per cent fall in sales, with the rest of the top ten also merely shuffling about one or two places.

The highest new entry of the week was Capcom's Wii exclusive Monster Hunter Tri at number five. Thanks to heavy advertising the game has become the most successful version in the franchise so far in the UK, although it still lags far behind Japan in terms of overall popularity.

The only other new entry of the week was Namco Bandai's Dead to Rights: Retribution. The third entry in the mature-rated franchise debuted at number 22 on 360 and PlayStation 3.
