SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS (June 24, 2008) – The Midnight Gaming Championship (MGC) is proud to announce Southwest Airlines as its new partner for the 2008 video gaming season. The “Southwest Airlines Ultimate Gamer” promotion will run June – October 2008. Consumers can enter online at www.southwest.com/mgc or at MGC tournaments.

MGC is the premiere, casual gaming competition in the U.S. and is held at various McDonald’s and Wal-Mart locations around the country. The 2008 Championship kicks off its 34 tournaments in Houston and Oklahoma City on July 12, followed by Salt Lake City and Dallas in August and Lubbock in September with more locations to come through October 17.

Southwest Airlines will promote its national products “DING,” “Click ‘n Save” and “Rapid Rewards” throughout the tournaments and will be working with MGC to provide prizes which include round-trip airline tickets to the Video Gamer Awards and console video gaming equipment, including an Xbox 360, a Sony PlayStation 3, a Nintendo Wii and many games to go with the systems.
