Sounds of the City - Exclusive, limited edition GameCity CD produced
25th October, 2006. Nottingham, UK. GameCity 2006, is the first GameCity, taking place from the 25-29th October in various locations across the historic city of Nottingham. A commemorative, limited edition CD entitled 'Sounds of the City' has been produced and will be available at the festival.
The festival is about celebrating the 'hidden-industry' of videogames, highlighting the work of some of the most creative and inventive artists in the UK, whose work is seldom discussed and appreciated by the wider media. Music in particular is an often overlooked element of videogames, hence our excitement at including performances by Richard Jacques and TJ Davis; sessions by Nimrod, Confetti and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's world-leading audio department.
Furthermore, the artists involved were invited to donate a few tracks to make a commemorative album, celebrating their work and remembering the occasion. Their generosity, combined with that of Craig Chettle and the extraordinary Confetti Studios, made this possible. GameCity is about trying to find out what a videogame festival could be. This is about finding out what one sounds like.
The CD will be given away free to lucky attendees of the SCEE audio sessions and selected members in the audience at the Richard Jacques gig.
Additionally, the first 50 people to send their name and address to this email address will also receive a copy: sounds@gamecity.org
