Sony reveals PSP Engine for PlayStation 3 Remasters series

Introduces 3D stereoscopic output and high definition rendering

Sony introduced its latest development tool, the PSP Engine, at its Game Tools & Middleware Forum 2011 in Tokyo.

Andriasang reported the engine is designed to act as a middle ground between the PSP titles and the PlayStation 3’s OS.

Some of the features include 3D stereoscopic output, Ad-hoc Party unification, and high resolution rendering.

The PSP Engine is being utilised for the PSP Remasters, a series of PlayStation Portable games that will be adapted for Blu-ray release on PlayStation 3.

Gamers will be able to play the games on both systems, and the first title to be released will be Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.
