Sony Pictures Digital forges long-term partnership with Kayak Interactive
The Da Vinci Code for mobiles first on release schedule
Sony Pictures Digital has announced a partnership with Kayak Interactive, granting worldwide rights for the development, publishing and marketing of licensed mobile content.
Kicking off the multi-year agreement will be two games based on the upcoming film version of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, which is due for to arrive in US cinemas on May 19 next year. The mobile phone games will be available for multiple handsets through major operators and carriers close to the release of the motion picture.
"Kayak Interactive brings an incredible skill and a strong track record in creating popular mass market mobile game experiences," said Mike Arrieta, senior VP of sales and marketing at Sony Pictures Digital.
"We plan to leverage that expertise and momentum to bring select Sony-licensed properties to life at people's fingertips."

The Da Vinci Code film is based on Dan Brown's critically acclaimed book, and begins with a murder in the Louvre Museum, with all clues pointing to a covert religious sect striving to protect a secret which that could destroy more than 2000 years of accepted religious dogma. At present, no details regarding the style or content of the exclusive mobile games have been released.
Kayak Interactive creates publishes and manages an extensive portfolio of mobile content, utilising a distribution network that spans more than sixty carriers. The company has partners in Europe, North America and Asia. Its European subsidiary, Synergenix, recently announced a new licensing deal with games publisher Eidos to bring a version of Conflict: Global Storm exclusively to mobiles.
