Social Gaming Summit Spring 2010

Six new speakers join panel of May event in San Francisco.

San Francisco, Calif. - April 29, 2010

The bi-annual event produced with Charles Hudson is designed to educate social game developers on the creation, monetization, and growth of their products by offering a range of panels and workshops conducted by industry leaders. The Social Gaming Summit, May 6-7, 2010, will be held at the Marriot San Francisco Marquis hotel and is a one and a half day event with 12 informative panels and more than 35 speakers.

The Social Gaming Summit Spring 2010 kicks off with Social Gaming Summit University, a half-day seminar designed to provide key insight into the world of social gaming, and will examine topics such as to the fundamentals of why social games work, and what it takes to successfully create and develop a social game. The second half of the summit will feature a full day devoted to panels and talks from the industry’s leaders including discussions with Christa Quarles of Playdom, Mitali Pattnaik of Playfirst, Jeff Revoy of Real Networks, and others.

The six newly-announced speakers at the Social Gaming Summit 2010 will present the following sessions:

• Mark Skaggs of Zynga, Peter Relan of Crowdstar, and Sebastien de Halleux of Playfish will be on a panel discussing what it takes to drive deep engagement in social games.

• Robert Goldberg of Zynga will share insight on the tactics used to maintain healthy distribution on the Facebook platform.

• Dennis Ryan of PopCap Games will join a panel discussion on how to bring successful casual games over to the social gaming space.

• Renata Dionello of eBay will be on a panel to help provide an overview for improving monetization in social games.

Panels are designed to be informative, fun, and full of actionable ideas and insights. Speakers and panelists will be examining a variety of topics from measuring the health of your social games to international perspectives on social games. Additional confirmed speakers include Jim Greer of Kongregate, Jason Oberfest of ngmoco, Kavin Stewart of LOLapps, Vikas Gupta of Social Gold and Danny Shader of Kwedit.

The Social Gaming Summit 2010 will also provide numerous networking opportunities throughout each day. There will be an after-party sponsored by Super Rewards on Thursday, May 6, as well as a cocktail reception hosted by PayPal and an after-party sponsored by Offerpal Media on Friday, May 7.
