Sir Branson, Are You Reading This? And Would Mr. Gandolfini Happen to be With You?

Or Mr. Williams? Mr. Brosnan? Mr. Sandler maybe?

For immediate release

VANCOUVER June 14, 2007 - With just a little over 4 months remaining until the 2nd Annual Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (CAEAA), the Producers are in quest of the perfect Host, Presenters and Judges for their 2007 Elans held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at The Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts.

William Shatner was the Elan's host in its inaugural year in 2006, helping to make the new Awards for excellence in Canadian Video Gaming, Animation and Digital Art Education a huge success. This year, with the CAEAA's addition of International Categories to the 2007 Elans, the production team has been throwing around names since the day after they wrapped their last show. "Mr. Shatner was the perfect Host for our first year awards," says Holly Carinci, Founder & Producer of the CAEAA/Elans. "We want to make very sure that our audience and the three industries we are awarding think the same again this year." After nearly nine months of discussion, the CAEAA is looking to invite Sir Richard Branson, Robin Williams, James Gandolfini, Adam Sandler or Pierce Brosnan to Host the show. "I've met Mr. Brosnan and he is definitely one of the most charming stars I've ever met," says Carinci. "People forget how funny he can be and, of course, he was 007 and this show is in 2-007, not to mention he's terribly debonair." Carinci goes on to say "Sir Richard Branson, now there's a fascinating man! I would love to have him as our host but I do not exactly have his cell number on my speed-dial, so if you're reading this, Sir Branson, please call me!" laughs Carinci. Adam Sandler or Robin Williams would also be "brilliant" believe the producers, and they would love to hear back from the public any other ideas they have for the ideal Host. "We are always polling the Video Game and Animation industries, as well as Digital Arts students, the public and the media for their input into the awards," explains Carinci.

Along with a Host for their show, the CAEAA is looking to pair up industry icons with celebrities as Presenters of the 2007 Elans. "One of our goals when we set out to launch this awards show just over a year ago was to create a much-needed star system for the Video Game and Animation industries," says Carinci. "Will Wright and Shigeru Miyamoto, for example, are as famous in the world of video gaming as movie stars Robert DeNiro or Al Pacino, they just are not recognizable even to their fans due to the different nature of these two leading entertainment industries. The Elans plans to combine the two in order to assist in creating this much-deserved recognition for today's stars in both Video Gaming and Animation." In only its second year, the Producers' ambition is to have acquired an Oscar-like level of awards show for Video Gaming and Animation by November 2009, just prior to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. "That's only 3 shows away including this year, so we've got our work cut out for us, but we're up for it. We love this show and the world is ready for it and Canada is the perfect host," says Carinci.

The producers are eager to hear who the video game and animation industries, media and public want to see as the 2007 Elans Host, Presenters and Judges all of which can be submitted to info@caeaa.com

The Jury Panels for the Canadian Categories of the 2007 Elans will consist of 5 Judges each, one panel per category, and will all be selected from within the 3 industries being awarded by their bios and résumés and must be from outside of Canada. Jury panels of 5 Judges each, one panel per category, for the International Categories will be made up of Canadian Industry luminaries who will also be selected through their bios and résumés. The 2007 Elans will be held on Friday, November 2nd at The Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts. The state-of-the-art structure, regarded as the premiere entertainment facility in the city, will host the nearly 2000 worldwide guests and participants of this year's Elans, tripling the attendance of its inaugural year in 2006. The day following the glamorous Awards Night, the CAEAA Producers, along with their Event Partners Ernst & Young, Electronic Arts (EA), Autodesk, N-GAGE by NOKIA and the British Columbia Provincial Government will host a very high-end networking day at their Official Hotelier The Sutton Place Hotel, Vancouver (one of only two AAA Five Diamond Hotels in all of Canada) for the CEOs and Upper Management of companies and institutions from around the world who attended the 2007 Elans.

Other important players already onboard to support the 2007 Elans includes: Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang, Foundation 9/Backbone Entertainment, Radical Entertainment, next level games, Studio B Productions, Mercury Filmworks, Action Pants, Atomic Robot Games, Voicebox Productions, Western Imperial Magnetics, David Kaye Productions, Selkirk College, The Art Institute of Vancouver, Emily Carr Institute, Sheridan College, Vancouver Film School, School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SFU), BC Film and Elan statuette artist Dean Lauzé of D'Arts as well as FedEx, Paramount Limousines, Chloe Angus Designs, Moore's Clothing for Men and the Awards Auditing firm, Buckley Dodds & Assoc.s.

"As the Movie Industry goes to Hollywood for its Oscars, so will the world of Video Gaming and Animation come to Canada for their Elans."
