Silhouette (working title)
Gesture-based game to be shown off at this week's NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference.
San Jose, Calif. - September 29, 2009
On the eve of the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference, Softkinetic announced that conference attendees will be able to experience Silhouette™, the world’s first gesture-based video game, using NVIDIA’s 3D Vision™. As a result, for the first time game players will have the opportunity to be immersed in the only true 3D video game that combines a 3D gaming interface with 3D Vision.
"The unique interactive gameplay of Silhouette takes full advantage of NVIDIA’s 3D Vision system, and players will truly feel the motion of walls moving towards them in full 3D,” said Alain Tiquet, group director of business development Nvidia. “This application of 3D Vision will have conference attendees moving their bodies as they never have before."
Silhouette is a controller free rhythm gaming experience that challenges players with a series of rapidly approaching walls, each containing a different person-shaped opening that players must pose and contort their bodies to guide their in-game avatars through. Silhouette combines gesture recognition technology with 3D cameras to enable players’ body movements to control the gameplay. The intuitive interface makes the game immediately accessible to any one. Silhouette is scheduled for release in the second half of 2010.
In addition to debuting Silhouette at NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference, Michel Tombroff, CEO of Softkinetic will be presenting at the second annual Emerging Companies Summit on October 1, 2009 at 4:30pm (PT). The summit will be held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, Calif., from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, 2009, in conjunction with the GPU Technology Conference.
