Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has today released a new title for iPhone and iPod Touch users in the form of Silent Scope – a stunning conversion of the publisher’s classic sniper-themed arcade game.
Available via Apple’s App Store for just £3.49, Silent Scope is a clever recreation of the popular arcade game, with players cast as a lone sniper and charged with rescuing The US President and his family from terrorist kidnappers. To this end, players use a roving crosshair to pinpoint and take out the terrorist forces, while also ensuring innocent passers-by are left unharmed. Silent Scope mixes precision with reflexes, and further demonstrates the versatility of the host hardware.
Konami’s conversion of Silent Scope takes full advantage of Apple’s innovative Multi-Touch user interface. Throughout the game, players can chose from two different gameplay modes in the form of Arcade and Training options. The latter allows new players to practice their precision shooting within a series of shooting galleries, while the Arcade Mode features three stages of gameplay for the veteran sniper. Additionally, Silent Scope’s Arcade Mode gives all users the chance to change the game settings with regards to the game’s Difficulty, Player Life and Branch Attack elements.
